HOLY WEEK SERVICES
Holy Week is the most solemn week of the Liturgical Year.
It is a week of reflection and prayer.
All are invited to join us for the this year’s Holy Week Services:
TENEBRAE
Monday, 4/2/2012, 7:00pm
Tenebrae is the Latin word meaning “darkness.” The Tenebrae Service will consist of psalms, and music, each growing darker as the light itself grows more and more dim. All three, the light, psalms and music, are intended to lead us in contemplating the mystery of the temporary triumph of darkness over light in the death of Christ that first Good Friday.
MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
Thursday, 4/5/2012, 7:00pm
At this very special Mass the Last Supper is portrayed through the washing of the feet and the receiving of the Eucharist. The altar is stripped of its linens and the Blessed Sacrament is exposed. After the Mass we process to the Gathering Hall where the Blessed Sacrament is placed on an altar for an all-night vigil and Adoration.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Friday, 4/6/2012, 3:00pm
Good Friday is the most somber day of the liturgical year. It marks the anniversary of the death of Jesus Christ. And so, we gather at 3:00pm, the exact moment of Christ's death, to pray the Stations of the Cross. By reciting the fourteen Stations of the Cross, we re-live the final days of Jesus from His betrayal to His crucifixion and death on the cross.
CELEBRATION OF THE LORD'S PASSION
(Veneration of the Cross)
Friday, 4/6/2012, 7:00pm
The Celebration of the Lord's Passion (also referred ot as "Veneration of the Cross") takes place on Good Friday. At this service we adore or venerate the cross through prayer, song and Scripture readings. Veneration of the cross does not mean that we are actually adoring the material image, but rather what it represents. In kneeling before the crucifix in reverence we are paying the highest of honor to our Lord’s cross as the instrument of our salvation. Holy Communion (Bread only) is distributed at this service.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
If you would like to become more involved in our parish community, consider volunteering for one of the follwing opportunities ...
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: We are always looking for teen and adult volunteers to assist with our various Religious Education programs throughout the year. If you are interested in working with our children in any capacity, please contact the Religious Ed Office at 603-888-0608 or via email.
LIFE TEEN YOUTH MINISTRY: We are in need of individuals to help coordinate and assist with our Sunday evening Life Nights. You can help as a member of our teaching core or with our evening set-up, clean-up and food preparation. There is something for everyone. For more infomation, please contact Carmen, our Life Teen Youth Minister at 603-888-0608 x228 or via email.
MEALS MINISTRY: The Meals Ministry is a group of talented cooks who share their gift by providing meals for our parish priests. We are always in need of additional volunteers!! If you have a joy for cooking and would like to help (or perhaps would just like a little more information), please contact the Parish Office via email or at 603-888-0321.
ARTS & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE: We are currently in need of several individuals to serve on our Arts & Environment committee. As a member of this committee, you would assist with the set-up and take-down of the Church environment for all special events throughout the year. This includes the liturgical seasons of Advent/Christmas, Lent and Easter, as well as other special events like First Communion, Confirmation and All Souls. For more information or to volunteer please contact the Parish Office at 603-888-0321 or via email.
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY: We're looking for people who are willing to be part of a Bereavement Reception Ministry. The Bereavement Reception Ministry will be organizing receptions in the Gathering Hall following funerals at ICC, as a service to grieving families. You don't necessarily have to be available at a moments notice to serve at a funeral -- Your role may be donating and preparing food from home and dropping it off at the gathering hall at ICC. We are hoping to gather enough volunteers together that we will have roles covered and only need to call on people a few times a year. If you are interested in more information please email the bereavement committe.
MASS MINISTRIES: We are always in need of additional volunteers to assist at our weekend Masses as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors and Altar Servers. If you are interested in pursing any one of these opportunities, more information is provided in the Worship section of our website (click here to navigate to that page) or by contacting the Parish Office via email or at 603-888-0321.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION COUPLES: Immaculate Conception Parish is looking for committed couples, who have been married for at least 3 years, to assist in the marriage preparation process. This volunteer opportunity would involve meeting with engaged couples to review their individual FOCCUS results. FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication and Study) is an internationally used tool designed to provide engaged couples and those working with them, a personalized profile of what to “focus” on in their marriage preparation process. It is both a starting place for couple discussion and a map of what issues need time and attention, or problem solving. All couples involved in this ministry are required to attend a one time training session. If you would like to explore this opportunity or would just like more information, please contact the Parish Office at 603-888-0321 or via email.
